@Prerna:
Pakistani politicians give America so much importance because they seldom have faith in the support of the masses. American control is depressing but I am sure we will find a way out of it, sooner or later.

@ Junaid Khan
Well said and I totally understand. But, hope keeps the world going. Why not let's for once put the past aside and work for the future.

Our problems started the day Ayub Khan joined the Cabinet as a serving officer. And our problem has remained the same for the last 60 years. They do not let the system run my dear. They just dont have the patience to let the political system evolve and take care of itself and the nation. Even in the days of democracy, they continuously conspire and intrigue to put things off track.

Condem the politicians, but only after they fail to deliver on the mandate that the nation has given them. Doing it before they have taken their seats is but a little unfair, or I think so.

And Pro-Pakistan, yes, I have stumbled upon it a few times and must say it's very well maintained. I would be regularly there as well. Thanks.

Hmmm! I think both 90's and 2000's have been ruled by tyrants. Tyrants from within are more dangerous the way Munafiqs are far worse then non muslims.
My thoughts might sound extreme but they are molded and shaped by the extreme actions that people are taking these days.
The other day a poor mother jumped with her three daughters into a river to get rid of her life. Even she wasn't able to kill her self rather killed her two daughters. A girl was raped in the mausoleum of the founder of this country? I wonder wasn't it a slap on the face of this whole country? I won't be surprised to hear tomorrow that someone stole the remains of our founder as well. In a country like this you expect me to blame only army and not the politicians? To me they all are same because i am a common citizen of the country and to me it doesn't matter if a politician is looting me or an army man or bureaucracy because i am suffering no matter who is doing it and at what level. Our problem is that we have accepted the same people again and again! Why was no one except Bhutto hanged in this country? Why General Niazi is still alive and why was Yahya not hanged? Even why was the corrupt military men not hanged? Why we always let them go after they bring havoc in our lives? Where was PPP when martial law was imposed and why people welcome the military in 1999 after the coup? Why were sweets distributed and why the judges took oath? Where were the principles?
Oh my God i can go on and on and on to ask so many questions which will never be answered!
In our country you are a problem child if you are thinking.

Definitely Baryaal it is better to be ruled by one of our own kind but the kind of control that America has over Pakistan must be depressing. Pakistani politicians regularly look up to to USA for support which cannot be a happy sign for a sovereign and independent country.

Animal Farm, yes!
Both the book and the movie are my favorite.
The way the ten commandments are changed over time makes one understand not only politics but society as a whole - religion, justice system, attitudes everything.
Seems, some animals will always be more equal than others. Still, isnt it better to be ruled by one of our own kind?

I am not qualified to talk about what's going on in Pakistan but with my experience so far in life, what I have learnt is- politicians are politicians whatever hue and colour they come in. Whenever there is a change in government we are all excited and optimistic but very soon we realize that all politicians are the same.The only difference I find in the situation in Pakistan is that you have returned to democracy which is better than dictatorship any day.
Have you read 'The animal farm' by 'George Orwell'. It is a very good satire on politicians.
